It takes me about 5-10 minutes. Of course there are those letters were you just don't know what to say. Those take me about 15-20 minutes.

It doesnt take me long to write letters out because i have thought ages before on what im going to say. Im like Liz i always like adding a personal touch to my letters to make sure they stand out. It makes me seem like i care more to i guess

I voted fifteen minutes because that's the time it actually takes me to "write" most of my letters. However, like Zanne I spend a long time thinking about what I want to say before I put pen to paper. I think about someone to write to and just get bits and bobs going around in my head through out the day until I sit and write them all down {thumb2}

I voted 20+ minutes :D

I need about
- 60% of the total time for thinking, wording and rewording
- 25% for translating and
- 15% for writing and revising.

The total time always depends on whom I am writing to. For example: I started writing my letter for Claire about a year ago. When I started writing this letter for the first time (it was immediately after I had watched "Stardust") I principally rewrote everything she did or said as Yvaine in "Stardust" (because I loved every scene with her {love} ) and I was absolutely convinced that this was a perfect and unique letter as such... :D
What a luck that I couldn't find any address to send it to her... :lol:

After I had found my way to fanmail.biz and read some advices how to write a letter, I read my letter again and was shocked! I couldn't believe that I wrote this some weeks ago :shock: So I started rewriting my letter again, again and again. Meanwhile I sent two (out of six) versions to her...........and I am still working on it...... :mrgreen: Hopefully one of my letters will ever reach her sometime.....
Of course this is a special case because it's my most desired autograph! (Just to make sure that I am not crazy :lol: )

Usually I need 1 - 3 hours per request {thumb2}

I voted about 15 minutes, but the truth is, it can take me anywhere from 15 minutes to hours!

I handwrite each of my requests, and depending on the person I write to, I can be really inspired and write a full page or two in a matter of 10 minutes. Other times, I want to take my time and word my request correctly, so thinking about the language I use can take a lot longer than 20 minutes.

I always try and write in the celeb's native language whenever it's possible, so sometimes checking dictionaries takes time. I'm fluent in 3, and passable in about 5 languages, so it's the ones that I'm passable in that I work harder on to get the wording correct.

I also decorate a bit on the letter - that can take 10+ minutes (I didn't include that in my time vote).

And I do not use a template!

I enjoy hand writing my letters, and as my handwriting is not brilliant, it take me a while on each request as I want make sure the recipient can read my words. :) Add to that, thinking about the content of the letter as it is written so I can get it right in one go, it normally takes about 30 minutes for an average letter or longer if I have something on my mind and want to get it on paper.

I chose 20+ minutes. I like to make a plan of my letter first before I start writing, the last thing I want to do is forget something then have tip-ex or crossing out all over my letter! I'm not quite sure how long it usually takes, but I usually spend the evening on one request, but that includes making a plan, writing the letter, finding a picture or 2, printing it/them, then addressing my envelope and SASE.

It takes me a long time to write my letters. I can't usually get them written in less than an hour ever. I handwrite them all and some I can write straight out and my most important ones I type out drafts and then handwrite them up. My main problem is that I write really long letters! I sometimes include handmade cards and sometimes bracelets etc too. :) I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to letter writing and if it isn't of good quality then I won't send it out. Sometimes it can take me several evenings to finish a letter. :lol: I never use a frame, I do of course have a style of writing, but I want my letters to really reflect how much I am a fan of the addressee.

20+ Minutes.

I think for a while in advance before I put pen to paper/fingers to keys. It takes me a while to write a letter because I want to put so much in it, I end up adding little snipppets here and there then it runs on far too long so I then have to go back and change it. I really put alot of time and effort into writing the perfect letter.

I voted 20+
First I make a draft on one paper...I just write down quickly the most important things I'd like to say in letter. After, I try to write a letter on better paper but often happens that I spent around 3 papers before my letter is finished. I wrote 7 letters for Geoffrey Rush before I finally loved one :mrgreen: and sent it out...Sometimes I spend days doing only this. Of course, it also depends how important the celebrity I'm writing to, is to me.
