I think my handwritings okay considering how abnormal my right hand is. It used to be quite messy, but I found a way to hold the pen which helped me write neater :D

:D Nah, I really like my handwriting. In fact, three celebrities have complimented my handwriting in their responses to me. I think it's because I write slowly and deliberately...I try not to rush when I'm writing my letters.

I never learned how to write in cursive - and I'm a teacher, so I print all my letters. I do handwrite everything, every LOR is handwritten.

Practice makes perfect. I personally love my handwriting.

I actaully have surprisingly good handwriting. I kind of crazy though, it's a cross between cursive and printing. I like it though. :D

My handwriting isn't one of the best too. But it's readable and I like it somehow. :lol:
The funny thing is that it changes (while writing a longer text) from the beginning to the end. This affects...
...the size of the letters,
...the declination (left <=> right)
...the font (blockletters <=> cursive)
...and the space between the single words and letters. :mrgreen:
This happens unconsciously :neutral:

So when writing a fan letter I have to do it in multiple inruns. Otherwise it looks like if the letter was written by multiple persons :D

Sometimes I really wish I had a more stabilized handwriting :roll:

matze16

I had terrible trouble at school with handwriting as I'm left handed and we had to write in fountain pen. In order to stop my hand smudging the ink, I had to write at an angle and it looked awful! Thankfully, I had a lovely teacher who re-taught me to write properly with a left handed pen. I'm now really proud of my handwriting.
It's never too late to learn to write nicely {thumb2}

If it's readable then it should be fine. It will mean more to the celebrity that you have tried to write a letter (no matter how it looks) rather than just typing it. They will see the effort you have put into it. And yes, practice makes perfect! The more you write, the more natural it will become for you. It used to be weird for me when I would go a whole summer without writing then returning to school, but I can't imagine what it must be like not writing for 10 years!

I write in cursive, it's very neat but if someone isn't used to it then they may struggle a little when trying to read it. In University (and when I was in school), because I write very quickly I often have friends trying to copy my notes because they can't keep up, but they often have to ask what certain words say.
I do worry that a celebrity may not be able to understand some words, but I have had some lovely responses from celebrities so I think it must be ok.
Also, I have never had any negative comments from teachers about my handwriting, and I always did great in my exams so the examiner must have understood it all. So I guess it's just my mates because they're not used to that style.
