I sent to a band that's performing on May 17th in North Carolina yestorday. So that's 3 weeks early. I live in the middle east and I think it takes 2 weeks (to be on the safe side) for mail to arrive in the US. So by the time it gets to the music hall I think it would be at least a week early. I put "Please Hold For... " though :)

I wouldn't think a week it too soon, I wouldn't send any earlier than that though. Be sure to mark on the envelope that they need to hold it until the date the particular celebrity will be at the venue. The envelope is already addressed to the celebrity, so there is no need to write it again. Good luck! {thumb2}

As a general answer - no, it's not too early. You want your letter to arrive there before the concert, and have a little lee-way for it in case something happens with the postal service.

I always send so that the letter gets there about three days before. Not long enough to get lost but long enough to be sorted out if the venue gets a lot of mail {thumb2}

I only send a few days before to avoid the letter being lost. There is so much paperwork and promo materials hanging around in venues that it's SO, SO, SO easy for letters to go astray! If an artist was performing on the Thursday, I'd send the letter on the Monday via first class. That way, the letter might arrive at the venue on the Tuesday, which it should. It the mail is busy, it will get there by Wednesday or Thursday at the absolute latest.

I send 5 days early, so if someones playing on 5th May, I'd send on 30th April or 1st May

I have previously got successes from via venue (concerts and stage) by sending over three weeks early, just because I was eager.

It might be a tad early but i dont think it matters as long as you do what selise said.

I send mine 6 days before the concert, 2nd class.

I'd send yours 4 days before the concert,1st class.

Good luck {thumb2}

Just write on the envelope:

Please hold for ___________ on _____(date)_________.

For example if a band were performing at a venue on the Sunday and I sent it first class the Monday of that week, would that be too early? Thanks :)
