i fhtere is anything too big to fit in the slot, they will put it in a larger compartment at the bottom of the post box so it doesn't get ruined, they simply leave a key in your mailbox and you "mail" it back to them when youre done.
it freakin amazing
That sounds REALLY cool!

"Don't bend" is really just a suggestion more than anything, mailmen aren't obliged to listen.

One thing you can try is to simply be nice to the mailman, whether that's a "Good morning", a "How are you doing today?" or whatever. If you're good to them, they'll be good to your mail.

I haven't had very many problems with the mail people bending my photos. Even if "don't bend" isn't written on the envelope, it comes back to me as best as possible.

I live in Canada, and in the newer subdivisions, there are post boxes across/down the street and we walk to get our mail.

Sometimes. I have a post office box, so I don't have a certain postman. Usually, my envelopes and photos aren't bent, but 25% of the time they are.

Whenever I send the regular sized small white envelopes though, 40% of the time the photos have a dark mark on them, like a gray stamp thing somewhere, and it's certainly not sent like that. It's only less than half the time though, so I'm fine with it, now that I'm used to it. I rarely send anything bigger than 4x6.

Are you paying for the extra postage? Depending on the size of the envelope, you are required to pay a certain amount of postage. For letter sized envelopes you are required to pay first-class postage, plus 0.20 cents extra for non-machinable/rigid envelopes. For large envelopes you are required to pay for parcel post if the envelope is rigid, about 0.20 cents extra. If you do not pay this extra postage, it doesn't matter how many times you write "do not bend" on the envelope, because to them its just any other letter that doesn't need special treatment.

If you have been paying this extra postage, I would recommend talking to your post man first. If he doesn't cooperate, report him to the main post office in your city.

The key is paying for the extra postage though.

Always!
If I send an envelope, it's almost gone when it comes back.
I mostly put 2 envelopes in eachother.

I disagree with the statement that it is only the mailmans job to deliver the mail whatever means possible even if it says do not bend,i feel it is their job to deliver the mail in good condition so if it says do not bend then do not bend.That would be like saying its ok for the ups driver to deliver you a squished box as long as you receive your package.And those of you who your mailman knocks on the door if its too big to fit in the mailbox are lucky,my mailman leaves it leaning against the door so if i was gone for hours anyone could just walk up and take it.

I never have a problem with getting a bent letter, it's actually never happened to me. My postman seems to like delivering me wet and soggy ones though {down}
