If you go back and re-read the original post, you will see he/she is talking about a retired hockey player doing a scheduled signing at a sports show somewhere. The wrong term was used, unfortunately. The correct term is an
inscription, which follows the player's actual signature. It's not about a personalization at all, nor is it about movie or TV star type celebrities.
Clearly, people need to be very carefull with the terminology they use or it can become quite misleading.
