They probably don't do it on purpose, for legal reasons. They don't want to guarantee who has signed. You can search eBay for these signed cd's and see who has signed (unless it is brand new)....they are promotional signings put together by the record companies for their new releases.

I just wish they took the extra time to say this is who it's signed by, since we have no way of knowing who did and didn't show up to the session

Most of the time it is by the entire band, but they don't list signers on their site.
