Like i said earlier i love vv without vv my autograph collection would not be as great a sit is because vv is the only way i seem to be able to get big stars to sign my stuff,living in canada where most filming happens now doesnt hurt either ...

Sorry to hear that you are discouraged about vv. Without a doubt I'm a devotee of sending stuff via venue, and of course there are disappointments, but the successes have far outweighed the negatives. I did get the Doobie Brothers from the Arrowfest concert outside of Houston. Keep trying them - they are great to their fans. If you would prefer I can PM you the return address they included on their reply to me -- it is not listed here.

I have received successes from: Neil Young and No Doubt (Shoreline Amp - Neil's charity concert) The Cranberries (Count Basie - NJ) and Jerry Seinfeld -- all this month.

If you are referring to the Count Basie venue in NJ - they do pass on fanmail. I received sigs from the Cranberries who played there the night before Daltrey's concert.

I'm not a huge fan of sending VV to be honest but on the rare occasions that I do, I always email or call the venue to make sure they pass on fan mail. That way, at least if I get an rts, I know it's the celeb who's a jerk and not the venue

I can understand your frustration. I have had similar experiences: but I have had some good responces too.

The first VV I tried, I got my photo back signed by David Wenham. So I started trying VVs and for the past 2 years I haven't gotten anything back VV. It only stopped recently when I got Marcia Gay Harden via a play.

Even more frustrating was that I once tried the same address someone else did and THEY got a responce abut I didn't.

The only thing I can say is that no matter where you send your letter, there is always a chance they will respond, and a chance they won't.

I feel you pain Frank. I gave up completely about 2 years ago. I never even got a Britney Spears or Jerry Seinfeld success; both whom are know as good VV signers. If I totaled the cost of pastage, supplies, photos, cd jackets, DVD artwork, and the time; it would make me cry.

At least you have gotten everything back so far. The way I think of it, RTS's are better than nothing. It would be worse if they trashed everything and you received nothing back...

I read that the NJ venue Daltrey was at on the 17th does not pass on fanmail, I actually sent to him c/o there too. So I actually sent to his next show in NY (confirmed do pass on fanmail) which was yesterday

I sent to AC/DC on their stop at New Orleans on 10-28-09 - NOTHING yet --- But I know they are going to Europe, so MAYBE they just collect it all and will send b4 they go??? - Thoughts?
