its a failure for me... I want the real deal. PP's are just a dissapointment. I'd rather not get anything back.

My thoughts exactly.

I don't consider a PP an actual success, but I don't throw them away either. I will hold on to them since I paid the postage to get them anyway, but I am always disappointed if that is what I receive.

I tend to put pps out of sight at the back of my collection!! Having got over 150 authentic autographs I think they are a waste of time. However, e-bay is at the root of the problem nowadays, in my opinion, as the number being sold makes celebs very suspicious of autograph hunters. A preprint just isnt valuable or sought after so to me, pp is a definite failure.

In the end, you have to know what you'd expect.

If I wrote to David Tennant and got a PP I'd be disappointed as he usually signs authentically.

If I wrote to Harrison Ford and got a PP, I wouldn't be disappointed as that's what I would have expected.

I just don't write to people who send PPs.

anyone? Like Demi and Jonas Bros and Selena?
Not at all. If people want to make time to sit and sign a bunch of pics, they will. If they dont, they wont. Regardless of their level of fame.

A celeb could easily sit and pre sign at least 750 photos in an hour. Have someone go through the mail, send them back. Even if they only set aside one hour a week, thats still 3000 replies a month.

3000 authentic replies a month, for 4 hours work.

But no, most celebs dont care about their fans and do the PP/AP/sec route, and dont even see their fanmail, nor care about it.

A PP is not the celebs way of "caring enough to give something because they dont have the time to sign authentically", it sthe celeb's way of saying "Im too lazy".

All the above is in my opinion only. ( I have to say this or I'll get people jumping on me  )
no..no one will jump on you...i said from the very beggining..this is an opinion post....everyone needs to respect evryone and their own opinion :)

thank you for your input :)

In my opinion it's not a success nor failure. I don't like PP's but well, at least that's something you get back. No, I don't collect PP's because they mean nothing to me. But some celebrities don't send out anything so I guess PP's are not so bad ;)
