Priority and Express price changes are implemented in January, and First Class prices in May. The price changes are announced during the year prior, so you can find out in advance. I guess no one talked about it, since the majority of people use First Class and there won't be a price increase there, so it probably wasn't worth mentioning.

Priority really didn't go down, only the Flat Rate Envelope went down I think. All the non-flat Priority prices are now going by zone, which increased prices. Of course, the Flat Rate Envelope is probably the only one autograph collectors use anyways.

Priority went down 5 cents. Express went up to $18 something.

This is the first I have heard this. Not one of the many people I communicate with in the forums has said anything to me. If they had known they would have. The only reason I asked them is because I am in Canada and I need to know in advance so I can get stamps to cover the increase.

I have a feeling very few people know about this. That's why I wanted to let everyone know. Of course Americans would find out automatically but the rest of us usually expect the mid May increase and need to prepare.

This was a pleasant surprise. :mrgreen:

To be honest, I found that VERY hard to believe! So I questioned her on it. She said there has already been a postal increase and it has only effected a couple of items. Priority post went "down" :shock: , and Express was effected as well. She mentioned something about an increase in international, but when I asked her if a 3 oz. letter to Canada is still $1.55 she said yes.

As this does sound too good to be true maybe someone else would like to give them a call and talk to them about this to verify what I have been told. USPS has toll free numbers available to call seven days a week. Just google USPS and click on Customer service.
Yay! {up}

There is no price increase on First Class this year, but there were some increases on Priority back in January I think. This was announced last year.
