Our mailman has been delivering mail since Moses was in short pants and could not care less about "do bend" or not jacking up our mail if he sees fit. He is close to retirement and we have a new guy taking over the route. I talked to the new guy and found out he likes to hunt and I told him about a few good places I know to try. I also asked if I got any flats in the mail would he mind not bending them. Today he hand delivered a large manila envelope to our door (and we live a good distance from our mailbox) because, "I figured you wouldn't want this bent even though it doesn't say do not bend." and he was right, it was an autograph inside.
Sometimes getting to know the carrier and chatting them up a bit can pay off.
