Why do I collect autographs? That's a good question. Many of my friends couldn't understand why I spent money for something like that. But when I show them what I got back, they are amazed :mrgreen:

I started collecting 2001 when I was a young girl. My mum animates me to write to some german tv stars. And it didn't take long until I arived my first autograph. I can't describe the feeling of the moment when you open the letter :) As someone already said, it's like opening a christmas present! I now love to come home after work and see if I got something back. On Saturdays I sit at home waiting for the postman and open the door before he could knock. Crazy, isn't it? :mrgreen:

I keep my autographs in an album and everyday I page through it. It makes me forget all the daily problems and the stress. It brings a smile on my face :D

So I guess tht's the reason why I collect :mrgreen:

i like because its cheap . I get things from my favorite celebrities and it's just nice to know that some of the people i watch and admire took the time to sign it. I also just like getting mail :D

I like it because it's fun getting things from my favorite celebrities and it gives me something to look forward to. This hobby really keeps me going. It's not that expensive and it's lke getting little presents in the mail. :)

I hope your collection is doing well!

I'm currently collecting for a present for my husbands 40th birthday next year...I'm planning on making an album of all the people he admires, although I have to say it is becoming very addictive! I guess I am also hoping to recreate some memories from the past for him getting autographs of people he followed in his youth and still admires to this day. I have some autographs myself from celebrities I have met throughout my career as an airhostess which I treasure, you never know this idea of a present may well end up turning into a hobby for me (I admit there are a couple of celebrities I have requested for my personal interest rather than his!!!) Just hoping I get a decent number of replies back!!

I love having something so special from my favorite celebs and its amazing to have something so special come into the mail for me instead of just bills

I collect because I feel like I am getting a small slice of Hollywood history, especially when I write to the stars who acted in the "golden age" of cinema. Historical autographs I get because they are known for doing something in real life, and many are a part of some very important events in American and world history. I wouldn't mind owning a piece of it. The same with music and sports. I just like getting autographs from anybody who has made an impression on me in some way, or because I would think they'd be good to get. I am planning to pass my collection on down to my children.

Well it's better then collecting stuff like Silver Spoons isn't it?

I have no clue really. Maybe just to say I have them and to show where I've been and who I've met.

The main reason for me is I'm a huge film fan and to have the autographs of the cast of my favourite films is something nice to look back on. It's something that I'd look forward to passing on to my family, plus it's such a fantastic feeling seeing one of your SASEs coming back and wondering what's inside.
