They weren't very popular for long, but there was a Canadian group by the name of Velvet Empire that was put together through one of those 'making the band' shows. I wrote them a letter via venue and put my phone number at the bottom, and I actually got a call from the band member I addressed the letter to. You shoulda seen the look on my face, haha. I was like, 17 and it was a DREAM!

He said my letter was really sweet and that an autographed photo of the band would be on its way... the band actually broke up before I ever got my photo

But still, it was a really cool moment at the time.
I'm not sure why I used to put my # in my letters.. but I used to do it all the time when I first started collecting. Then I'd get insulted that no one would actually call, so I stopped
