The only phone call I ever received was from 1950s horror host Zacherley. I was working on a project in my masters program and I called him asking if I could ask him some questions, but I got his voice mail. A week later, my phone rings and this booming voice on the end says, "hello this is John Zacherle!" We talked, on his dime (I offered to call him right back so he wasn't paying the long distance), for almost an hour. It was so awesome! I wish I had been able to record that call :(

I once got a phone call from Taylor Swifts Tour Manager inviting me to a meet and greet ( before she had her own tour)
I didnt put my phone number on my letter im not sure how he got my number but I live in a small town and have an unusual name so it probably didnt take much to find.

how did you get there numbers?

I never got a phone call, but I have recieved personel emails from over 50 people. Mostly politicians saying that you for your interest. I always add my email to every LOR...Maybe I will start to add my numer.

They weren't very popular for long, but there was a Canadian group by the name of Velvet Empire that was put together through one of those 'making the band' shows. I wrote them a letter via venue and put my phone number at the bottom, and I actually got a call from the band member I addressed the letter to. You shoulda seen the look on my face, haha. I was like, 17 and it was a DREAM! :shock: He said my letter was really sweet and that an autographed photo of the band would be on its way... the band actually broke up before I ever got my photo :lol: But still, it was a really cool moment at the time.
I'm not sure why I used to put my # in my letters.. but I used to do it all the time when I first started collecting. Then I'd get insulted that no one would actually call, so I stopped :lol:

Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock, Jared Allen, Forrest Griffin, Kirk Morrison, Bas Rutten, Josh Koscheck, Thiago Alves and some others

I think i called her 2 years before she died.
I called her to thank her for tge autograph she gave me TTM. She said "That was very sweet of you to say"
After that she said i woke her up from her nap; Than i let her go :lol:

I've not received any phone calls from celebs, but I have talked with a few that I called. I also put my phone number and email address at the top fo my letterhead so if they want to contact me they can. I have gotten many email replies saying 'Thanks for being a fan' and letting me know that they've signed my items and to be watching for them to arrive. {up}
