It doesnt matter if it sold or not. The point is that someone asks for his autograph and gets it for free. Then turns around and tried to make a quick buck. Whether it happened or not doesnt matter. Its taking advantage of someones generosity. Just because he isnt successful in your eyes doesnt make him unsuccessful in someone elses eyes. You cant say he isnt successful because he doesnt have a charted hit or whatever because I really like bands that no one has ever heard of. I am sure you do too. but to my next point...

If brad pitt or whoever (joe blow down the street) would sign for someone and that person turns around and sells it, people would be mad and talk about how its ruining the autograph hobby we all love. I have seen it done many times on this thread. Well known or not still doesnt make it right. But for the sake of arguement, I think me and you need to agree to disagree.
Totally get what you're saying. But I do believe there is a certain line that distinguishes the successful from the not. A band will tell you that they certainly are more successful when they have 100,000 fans than 100. But anyway. I do agree that it's taking advantage of someone's generosity, but still, any publicity is good publicity at this point. We can certainly agree to disagree {up}
Bylli - don't get too upset about this! ;-) Best wishes to you.
Upset about this? No, I am not.
Just dont agree with someone trying to make a buck off my generosity.

I used to deal books and at boot sales people would tell me that the books they had on offer were "worth xx£ because they were listed for that on Amazon". I would point out that the ones which hadn't been sold were listed for that on Amazon. I see that this seller has no takers so far.

On the other hand, I came to this hobby through firstly collecting IP, then buying some from dealers, then on eBay, then doing a bit of research and ending up here and writing to people myself. For me, the very act of writing to say thank you for increasing the sum of human happiness is more important than the response, although coming home to one of my envelopes is always nicer than arriving to find a load of bills.

Good for you for signing for people - if I were in your position I'd be hacked off too about this, but how many do you sign which DON'T get listed on eBay?

That sucks. {down} I'm just glad it won't stop you from signing for real fans (like me :mrgreen: )

I think what he is tring to say is it just the point of the matter. Well known or not people are making a buck off of his generosity. To me that is not publicity. Its just someone who got an auto and is trying to make a buck.

Any publicity is good publicity at your stage.
I agree with this. I've never heard of him.
