Sadly very true. Better chance than a PP though i guess. My most treasured auto's are ones that say things like "thanks for you letter" or "thanks for being a fan" or they answer questions you might of asked. Especially answering questions, then you know they read it, I guess its luck of the draw and who you send to. Its just a shame some people cant spend 5 seconds signing your item. I know the bigger names dont have as much free time, but I would rather wait 1 year and have a hand signed piece than wait 1 week for a PP.

Which is sad. We want our letters to get passed the people who look at them and make their way to the celebrity. But yet, that would take alot out of their day.

to me PP = recipiant hasnt read your letter.
Very true, but unfortunately receiving a hand signed one is no guarantee they read it either.
I often wonder what % of my responses have been read by the celebs. Probably not a lot.

I completely agree! Thanks for your comment!

There's little logic to that I'm afraid. The hassel of sending out PPs would fall to the PA/agent's office, not the celebrity. To send out authentics there would be a significant amount of time invested in it by the celebrity themselves.
I agree. The hassel for the celeb consists of signing a prototype photo, and that's it.

Another reason I like the idea of pp - imo, it is the best ''non-authentic'' to get. It does not try to blatently deceive their fans like an ap, and it is not cowardly, like a sec is.(not sure if cowardly is the right word, but i'll run with it) It is more a polite nod, a ''sorry I can't sign, but please accept this''. Some, hell, most might not care for it, but at least you know where you stand.

I keep everything I get. It's a "win-win" for me. All I have to do is write a letter and put a few stamps on it...and I get "a response"? I think that's pretty cool. With my autograph collecting, I only strive to be heard...to get my word across. If that generates a PP (or a secretarial), that's fine by me. At least someone (hopefully close to that celebrity) read it and responded. I come away with a fantastic-looking photo (most of the time). I'm happy.
