When it comes to celebrities c/o agency, I don't think it matters. It will go to the agency and sit there until it gets dealt with, depending on each individual's signing habbits.
Sports personalities and others sent c/o home is a bit different. I usually lay off sending after the first or second week in December, and resume in January. I just don't know how the request will be seen by them at a time like this. They may resent it or they might not mind. But I won't take that chance. I also don't want to take a chance of fan mail getting lost after it arrives at their house during the hustle and bustle of the season.
Also keep in mind the postage rate increases coming up in the US, Canada, and possibly a few other countries as well.
