I think it is OK to ask just one person for an autograph when they tour with a group - and not the other members.
I would find more weird to ask for an autograph somebody who I do not care about. Of course it is up to everyone what they want.
I just wanted to say, no it is not rude to ask for an autograph just one person, neither I think it is especially thoughtful to ask for an autograph you do not really want.
That was my point 8)
GOTCHA ;)

IMO, it's alright, since Huey Lewis can be considered a standalone celebrity outside of his band. And no knock on the band, but it is Huey Lewis and the News after all.

I probably have not made myself clear.

because sometimes when your in a group people only want the "main person" like Bon Jovi for example...The Pussycat Dolls With leader: Nicole Scherzinger..it justs differs what certain people want..lol. there int anything wrong with that. its just what the want.

If you are f.e. Jon Bon Jovi fan, and do not give a damn about the other band members, why would you ask for their autograph?

That smells of hypocricy. So no, it is not rude, even though the other band members might feel they do not get the attention they want  But that is not your problem.

In that case, assuming that it's a photo of just him. I don't see a problem. Good luck.

i see it as: its your hobby and you can ask whoever you want 4 an autograph. people have asked th same thin with Chris Daughtry's band...and i said the same thing. if you want their autograph ask for it, but if you dont, dont ask them for it. lol.

so no you dont have to if you dont want to. if you want him for something specific then send him a photo of that era...ya know?

Well the main reason I'd like to write to him is because I'd like to add him to my "Back to the Future" collection and he's the only band member who appeared in the film. And, while I am a fan of his music and of the band, I was going to send a photo from the movie.
