Tried with acetone..it worked to an extent. The black sharpie mark is pretty much gone off my 8x10 glossy photo but if you look carefully you can still see that something used to be there. oh well. worth a shot. Worked better than expect tbh.

I think odds are better if its something recently signed compared to something set in longer like my tester.

I just tried both alcohol and acetone and neither worked. both marred the surface of my printed photo. I did have good luck with WD40 though. It took a few wipes of it on a tissue, and I could still see the outline on an angle, but most of the silver Sharpie is gone. hope that helps.

hi, i didnt want to start a new topic as this one already exists
but wondered if there is a easy clean way to remove SILVER sharpie from a photo?
well this sharpie is on card packaging for a figure, and is only 1 day old

i had this figure signed yesterday but the quote written on the box is terrible
hence why i would like to remove it if possible

and to the original poster, i know this topic is 1 year old, but if it helps you can remove black sharpie off a glossy photo with a rubber. i tried it, it worked.
might work with other colours

You may have to rub kind of hard with the Q-tip if the celeb pressed down hard when signing. Sometimes it won't get it all the way off, but I have had success with acetone.
ok thanks! 8)

Yeah, I find it easiest to use a Q-tip so you can be precise and not erase the wrong thing!
