You have to be careful about graphing at the hotels. Some won't allow this, unless you are staying at the same hotel. If you don't know anyone who graphs there then it's not a bad idea to take your chances, just be prepared for security to tell you to leave the premises. Be polite if it happens.
I don't usually graph at the hotels. I normally graph at the visitor's entrance. Getting the home team as they are arriving can be tough, depending on how things are set up -- especially if they drive right into the ball park garage. For a 7-ish game, the players and coaches will usually start showing up around noon-ish. For an afternoon game they usually start showing up around nine or ten in the morning. But spring training is a different animal because sometimes they will have morning workouts prior to an evening game. Just get there as early as you can and observe things while you are graphing.
