well for me it started cuz i got a few IP autographs and I was pleased. I was always gripping through cuz my friends had more autographs than I did cuz they got to go to more concerts and signings. On Paul and Morgan Hamm's webpage I emailed Morgan and he sent me an autographed picture with a little note (that got stolen, gr!) and later I wrote a letter to Michael Phelps and forgot about it until I sudden got an autograph in the mail from him.

Then in feb i was bored at work and wanted to write Nick Carter a letter and Tom Brady so I was googling them and came across this website and it's gone from there.

I met a few One Tree Hill people and got thier autos, then I wanted the other's, then I was like "wow who else can i get autos from" thats how mine started

It was one of my mate's that actually got me collecting autograph's.
She had wrote to liverpool asking for the whole teams autographs( and obviously got pp's) i decided to do the same but decided that writing to player's individually would get me a better result( i started collecting april 2007).
I remember i searched "frank lampard address" and this site came up.
since then i've never looked back and have nearly 300 autograph's.

Well my collecting started in various stages really.
My dad works for Bentley Motors in the factory and celebrities are always coming around to look at their cars being made so he used to get me there autographs right from when I was little.
I actually started collecting autographs myself at a football match probably 4 years ago. We'd decided to go the club shop after the match and when we came out to walk back to the car my favourite player was there so I went up and got his autograph. This got me hooked on meeting footballers and now I do it every week.
I started collecting through the mail when I wrote to my teams manager basically to say thank you. I few weeks later I recieved a signed autograph from him and a letter, which I hadn't asked for. I started searching the internet and came accross this site and started to write more letters.
I still collect more IP than TTM though.

I wanted to write Christian Bale, and when I got a response, it got me thinking that maybe other people I really like might answer if I wrote a letter...
I've always been the type to get star struck, and to own something that someone I admire had handled was always cool to me; I always loved to go through my grandfather's autograph books from the 1940s. I wouldn't call myself a collector though; I'm just a fan

Looking on BBC eastenders website when i came the faq about autographs then i wrote to some.

Two reasons really. I love the old, old movies. My favorite actress being Lauren Bacall. Once I got hers, I sort of took it from there and suddenly just started looking up other people, and then began frantically writing. I say frantically because I am bi-polar and I sometimes get very obsessed with one thing and only focus my full attention to that regardless of anything else in my life. I'm sure within the next couple weeks I will have moved on to a new hobby, lol.

I used to go IPing with my Nanna in the late 80's. We used to go on coach holidays to Blackpool and ALWAYS saw a show at the Winter Gardens. Nanna used to love getting our programs signed after the show so I had a little collection of autographs. She died in 1994 and I didn't think about autographs again until 1999 when Jack & Vera Duckworth from Corrie opened my local carnival. I got their autographs and started collecting IP at shows again. I didn't start collecting ttm until I got the net in 2004 and started looking up addresses. I love my collection now but unfortunately all the autographs I got with my nanna have been lost

I started in 2005. I was working for an online music magazine and artists would send in signed items as gifts to us at the magazine. So since then, everytime I made contact with an artist I would asked for a signed CD. but I have recieved all types of things from Posters, T-Shirts and even a signed Lunchbox! lol
