I learned from former autograpgh expert DANARENOMBA that she never ( or only VARY rarely ) mails anything in December. Mostly due to the large volume of mail at that time of year. I have found that by following her advice my collection has grown by leaps and bounds in the past year or so. I very much miss her input at this site, but found where she is still posting and am taking advantage of her years in the hobby.

I have sent more requests than I ever have in the past few weeks, and I don't think that it matters that its Xmas. In fact, if you sent to the celebrities home address or email address, you are probably more likely to get an autograph since they are having time off! If you sent to their studios you might have to wait till filming starts again.

Another thing to consider is the amount of things mailed during the holidays. With everyone mailing cards and gifts there are a lot more things in the mail and I think that gives your letters more of a chance to get lost or destroyed.

I usuallty take a break during December though there are a couple requests I will mail this week (perhaps early next week).

I really dont think it matters because some celebs might pick up mail while on xmas holidays and respond or if its too busy a time of year they will just possibly respond in january,I really dont think it makes any diff but i do find you get back less in december because everyone is so busy with family and xmas and travel.

It has been really slow for returns for me. Wondering if anyone else felt this way. Are the holidays a good or bad time to send out requests? Is there a time when sending is better?
Today after the postman delivered the mail, my co-workers across the hall put one of our Judges picture in an envelope and brought it to me. It was good for a laugh.
