Normally a lot over 1 a4 page, but not that much longer than 2.
Lots of people say keep to one page or less but if the celeb is going to read letters from their fans I think they would prefer longer more heartfelt ones than short ones where the biggest part of the LOR is explaining why you would love their autograph. Or explaining what a IRC is

I don't know... I think if you're going to write a letter, and use a SASE you might aswell put everything you have into it.
And if the celeb can't be bothered to read thats their problem for not giving it a chance, not yours.
