I agree with dancingirl1, mail is mail. They'd lose a lot if they limited themselves to "important" items only, because everyone could fight back by getting online bill pay. There's absolutely no benefit to them limiting themselves to only "important" items.

Well, if the USPS were to ever colapse, or decide to give up their exlusive rights to first class mail service, you would see UPS and Fedex have a service similar to what we have now with letters. But the USPS is part of the government, and they wont ever go away

This terrifying thought has been crossing my mind lately, what would happen if the postal service (U.S) only was used for like bill deliveries and important items. I know they have to cut back a lot, so as long as we keep buying stamps!!! But what if this did happen- WHAT WOULD WE DO?! :0
