We have that here too. http://stamps.com
You get special paper, I'm not quite sure how it works.

Hi,

I currently use this for my corporate work. You just print your postage onto a label and affix to your envelope!

You just top up your account as required, and you only ever have to use the exact postage instead of using too much.

The software is free to download, but in order to set up an account you have to pay a monthly rental/usage fee whether you print out any postage or not.

The idea behind it is that it is an alternative to a full-blown franking system.

For more info check out here: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/onlinepostage

Hope this helps!

could you do that with US stamps and does that actually work cos then everyone would be using it?

It's like when you frank an envelope, you would print the stamp stright onto your envelope, but through your computer instead of a franking machine.

Lol that's kinda bizarre!! But a little more fun...but how would they stick? Because you can't tape stamps, if your stamps are covered with stamps your letter is marked undeliverable..

I visited http://www.royalmail.com recently and they've created a more convenient way for people to use U.K. stamps. You just have to pay a certain amount and you can print your stamps through your computer.

Has anyone tried this before or does anyone have any comments regarding this?
