Maybe it's because in a stack of fan mail the larger envelopes/packages catch the eye and they open those first?! I honestly don't know. It does seem strange, but if I was a celeb looking at a giant stack of mail I would just start with the envelopes that are larger or more colorful than the rest. ;-)

So, I've recently gotten back into collecting autographs, which I originally started as a kid. So far, I've sent out about 30 requests (give or take) for autographs on index cards and used a SASE. So far, i've only gotten back 2 (Joe Sakic and Chris Chelios). Most of my requests have gone to baseball players, hockey players, and football players that I enjoyed watching as a kid. Most are not HOF'ers, but were good players in their day. But, the larger ticket items like baseballs and hockey pucks have all come back and very quickly too (inside of 2 weeks). Seems strange that I've gotten back all the bigger items, but hardly any of the index cards.
