Also, the ones who you generally see selling the autographs are dealers who obtained the ttm fakes and are trying to capitalize on a free autograph, either not knowing or not caring they're fake.
Many well known auction sites were corrupted with Charlton Heston fakes with most sellers not realizing the ttms were fake.

The ones doing the private signings set them up to give collectors the chance to get real autographs, after years of receiving secretarial fakes.

Long time collectors know that both guys and many more stars do not sign for fans ttm. Unfortunately, in some cases, like Charlton Heston and Jackie Gleason, the star has long since been dead when ones found out the autographs they thought were real ttm were secretarials all along.
