I sent Kimora Lee Simmons (designs BabyPhat clothes) so i'm thinking maybe she'll send me something because she seems to have quite a bit of posotive feedback. She's a great designer. Btw-Not a silly question at all :)

I've gotten Donatella Versace. I don't have it on my site though, because I gave it to a friend.

ive gotten a few great designers... i wrote to a ton of people from project runway recently. i like to say that i love theyre collections. i comment on a dress/purse/ whatever i like the most. good luck

WOW ! Hilfiger now send out preprints? I remember years ago all you had to do was email him and you received an authentic signed pic. Guess he got tired of it.

I was thinking of asking the same question..

However, I'm pretty sure that they don't reply. I know that Tommy Hilfigher sends out pre-prints, And some of the other big designers send out autopens.

I was considering writing to Stella McCartney, but I didn't know if she would reply, I'd also love Donatella Versace's autograph, but I'm ceraain that she wouldn't reply!

Your question doesn't sound silly to me at all.
Wish I could help you with a good answer, but I've never tried to contact anyone until recently.

But if I were you, and had a valid address of the designer I was a huge fan off, I certainly would write to him/her. (after all, they're just human, and like most humans probably love to hear they are appreciated for their work. (esp., as in your case, from someone who has any insight in what their work is all about!)
