When I'm trying to decide how many photos (or items) to send to get signed, I usually base it on the level of fame of the person. The more famous they are, the less photos I send. Usually (as I never really write to mega famous people), I send 2 photos. I've only had 1 or 2 returned where not all of my pics have been signed. I think it's probably best to stick with 2.

You're very welcome, BossC

And even if the photos were large you can also shrink them to a smaller size!

Good luck!

A collage is a great idea! Especially if the photos you like are small, that would be a WONDERFUL idea.

Firstly, I never buy photos; I print them off my computer or send items from mags/newspapers/posters if I have any lying around.

When I am looking for good photos to print to send, and there are half a dozen on the internet, I arrange them into a collage and send them off as one or maybe two printouts.

Therefore, there is a much bigger chance that I would get my photos signed and would be much less work for the celebrity signing it!

Hope it helps

Hi BossC :D

Because I send my own photos, I usually say something like this:

"If possible, could you kindly take a moment to personalise and/or autograph the enclosed photos"

Obviously it's up to you to word it the way that suits your letter.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice nowandagain.

How would you word asking the celebrity to personalize the photo? I could use some help with that.

Hi BossC :D

I've always sent 2 with my request (I send out 6x4's). However, I have specifically mentioned in my letter as to if it was possible, to personalise the photo. This clearly sends out the message that I don't have the intent to sell it.

From the successes received so far from sending out my own photos, I have had some celebrities personalise both, some personalised one and others not personalised any at all.

I would say 2 items should be the recommended limit per request. Obviously you could send out more items, but then again it's up to the discretion of the celebrity to determine how many items they wish to sign.

Thanks for your advice, Tomaldo , Ian and Chrissy! {up}

I plan on only sending 2 to the celebrity, so think it will be ok.
