I have written to people a few times and usually do not say I wrote previously. However once I did when I wrote Matt Czuchary of GG. I wrote him an honest long letter cuz I him. Anyway I mentioned that I had written him but didn't hear back so I was writing again because I really wanted his autograph and included photos to sign and a SASE. The first time I didnt send either...just a letter. He signed one of the pics thanks for all your letters....so he def read my letter. I don't think including that your wrote before will hurt your chances or getting a response, but I don't think its necessary. Just go with what your gut tells you. Good luck!!

I emailed and wrote Diane Sawyer from GMA asking her if she could help me in my search for a miracle~

I've done it a couple of times when I saw others recieve responses and I didn't.

With Daniel Craig I was one of the first to send a request via Casino Royale... been a while, everyone received replies except me, I sent another letter and not long after I got my second request back. Never got my first one. I did mention in the second letter that I tried sending before and wasn't sure if he got it.

Also with Eric Bana, I sent him in 2004 through agency, heard of people getting replies, I got nothing, then at the begining of the year I tried again, this time VV, I don't think I said I wrote before cos well, I figured it's been so long. Then people started getting him back in April so I sent AGAIN (mentioning I wrote before lol) and 2 days after I sent for the third time I got my two earlier requests back signed, on the same day.
Haven't heard from my third one yet LOL

But I usually wouldn't send someone a letter more than once, I feel like hassling them as it is. So unless I have a pretty good reason to do so or unless it's been a really long time, I wouldn't do it. And yes, I would usually state I've written before.

I did this once, I wrote a second letter and told the celebrity that I had written before and only wanted 1 reply. a few weeks later I got both of my letters back with a note from the celeb (Jason Isaacs) telling me he was really sorry and that he didnt mind sending do autographs to the same person

usually i wait a few months (6 or so) before i try again. i try only if i still really want the auto. i usually do the same addy unless i find a better one online. and yes i always mention i wrote, usually it doesnt matter but kyle chandler did comment on it.

I have done the same thing!! Last year i wrote to Kate Bosworth (Letter and SAE) and after a few months i saw that a lot of people were getting things back from her so i decided to resend with SASE this time and i got a response.

I also wrote to Emilie De Ravin back in September or October (Letter, SASE and Picture) and never heard back after seeing all the responses so i wrote to her again in march and still haven't heard back. SO i think it could go either way, i guess we just have to be paitent!! Like Nowandagain said, i wouldn't mention anything about the last letter, as it's hard to remember who sent what after reading so many letters.

I just sent a letter to Rachel McAdams last year and got a beautiful signed photo.

We wrote three times to Rachel McAdams and the first time we included 2 IRC´s and SAE and we didn´t receive request.
We wrote her again and we said her that we have written her before but we are still expecting for the photos...

This has happened to me before. I wrote to Jackie Chan last year and didn't include a SAE and IRC.

A short while later (maybe about 3 months or so), seeing that people were getting successes on the forum, I tried again to the same address. I sent 2 photos, SAE and IRC and received a response.

In my letter I didn't mentioned anything about the previous letter I had sent him. I would advise you to do the same. It can be awkward for the celebrity who may be receiving hundreds and hundreds of requests to be finding out that you're writing to them again because you didn't hear from them the first time.

Besides, if you write to them the second time and not mention that you've written to them before ... you may get 2 successes!!
