Morning everyone
I'm Stuart from the U.K. and wanted to say a big hello to everyone on the forum. Looks like a great forum.
I've recently started collecting autographs, mainly Star Wars but do pick up others along the way. So far I've only picked up autographs from conventions that I've attended. In 2014 I drove to Belgium to an event just to meet and get Carrie Fisher's autograph, cost me quite a bit with travel and hotel then of course 50 euros for the autograph, when I got home I placed it inside a book to keep flat until I went and got something better to put it in, days later my wife decided to sort out her bookcase and took the book to a charity shop, I went down there but book couldn't be found, so what a waste of time and money so hoping I can get another Carrie Fisher by writing to her, has anyone had any success with her on here?
I did use Fanmail.biz several years ago (2009) when I wrote to over 250 celebrities to get birthday cards signed for my wifes birthday and had over 200 reply, the success of the addresses on the list amazed me and it was clearly here that I thought I would get involved to start my autograph collecting. I was lucky enough to get Richard Harris's autograph shortly before he passed which was nice, he was a true gent.
My recent signings have been;
Femi Taylor (Oola, Return of the Jedi)
Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett, Empire Strikes Back)
Danny John Jules (Cat, Red Dwarf)
Chris Muncke (Captain Khurgee, Star Wars)
Michael Henbury (Return of the Jedi, Labyrinth)
Andrew Lawden (Qui-Gon Jinn Stunt Double, Phantom Menace)
Alan Harris (Bossk, Empire Strikes Back)
Paul Blake (Greedo, Star Wars)
Robert Watts (Empire Strikes Back)
Michael Carter (Bib Fortuna, Return of the Jedi)
A very small list but it's a start, so definitely going to enjoy getting involved on here.
Couple of questions though;
1. I can't find where to buy US stamps for return postage on line, is there anywhere?
2. Do people print their own photos to send off (this would make sense to me)? If so where do people require decent quality photos?
Many thanks in advance for any replies to my questions.
