I agree with EugeneE. Some people ruin it for the real fans.


-EDIT-Interesting enough just 2 people out of 25 write to a celeb because they are a good signer.

The only reason I write is because I am a fan of there work.... and I'd like a photo :D

Some people write to celebrities who they don't even know espically if it's an A list celebrity only to sell the autograph(s) on EBAY, et al.

It boggles the mind why people will write to celebrities who they don't know. These type of people are the ones who back up celebrities fanmail only because they want to write to celebrities who they don't know & they cause problems for the real fans.

Never understood why people write to celeb they don't even know. I rather have Autographs of people I actually know and like them waisting time and money over celebs that I don't like or know about.

Like everyone else had voted; I send fanmail because I'm a fan... I hate it when people send just to get an autograph also. :x Blah.

thank you!!! Other people need to realize this. A lot of people write to certain celebs just because they are good signers and then the address ends up getting overwhelmed with requests. Especially if its an email address, sometimes people will write to them just for the heck of it. And then either the address gets shutdown or the celeb turns to preprints. I wish people would stop selling autographs too, but doubt thatll ever happen. It makes it more difficult for us :|[/quote]

Excellent point & I totally agree. I only write to celebrities who I am fans of. I wouldn't write to a celebrity just because they are a good signer or they are fast at answering fanmail. I also don't like people who write to celebrities only because they want to sell the autograph(s) on EBAY because these people who sell autographs ruin it for everyone else. In fact, some celebrities have stopped signing TTM because they don't like the fact that they sign an autograph & send it out & then certain people sell the autograph(s) on EBAY, et al.

Only write to celebrities who you are fans of not because they are good signers of fast at answering fanmail. My autograph collection is special to me because all of the autographs are celebrities who I'm fans of.

yeah. i posted myspace successes for a while, and they got tons of fake "fans". then they got angry at me.

i think you should only write if you really like their movie/music/show
