Well basically I do something like this:
I was wondering, if it's not too much trouble, if I could have an autograph? It would really mean a lot to me.

I do like to mix it up a lot. I don't usually put the exact same thing on every letter. But usually I'll write, I was wondering and would be honored if you could please sign the enclosed photo. Or if I don't include a photo I might write, I would very much appreciate if you could please send me an autograph. I would treasure it forever. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. Sincerely, Peyton. That's all I do.

I collect for charity so I tell the that, and then say that I would extreely grateful if they wpould be willing to donate a signed item (including photographs).

Like everyone else here, I write about the movies, that they were in, that I love. Then I end my letter by asking "If it is not to much trouble, may I please request an autograph?" Then I thank them for reading my letter, and write some sort of optimistic salutaion like "wishing you much success in your future film-making endeavors..." Something of the sort! Then of course instead of the usual "sincerely" or "your #1 fan," I always end with an Hawaiian touch -- "Much Alohas & Mahalos (with Love & Thanks)..." {thumb2}

I write: "I was wondering if you could fulfill a small request for such a big fan. Could you please sign the photo enclosed?"

yeah..
actually, I remember writing it once on this humongous pink letter to Johnny Depp.. I laughed at my own letter (because of the #1 thing) that I'd spent over 4 hours on, but didn't want to use white-out on it and sent it like that. Never used it since.

I just use 'sincerely' or 'looking forward to your next movie,' or whatever :P sure it's more common, but it's less irritating.

I usually say:

If it's not too much trouble could you please send a signed photograph. Thanks very much and best wishes.

Yeah.. I'm trying to find another way to word what everyone else has written .. :P

In other words, I end mine like everyone elses' as well :D Works like a charm ;)

And I always write 'from your number one fan in Korea' :lol: they can't have had THAT too many times before..
