they seem to be sending a lot of pp's out now-a-days...but i've seen that Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory, seems to be sending out authentic autos...for how long, who knows? i haven't tried him yet. but i did get a personalized photo and an index card signed by Rupert Grint a long time agao when HP first came out...he's the only true success from the Harry Potter movies that i've got

Alan Rickman is very good about signing when he's not working. I just happened to catch him when he was not very busy. I believe he's working on a film in LA until October, so now probably wouldn't be a good time. Keep trying and I'm sure you'll get him. David Thewlis and Gary Oldman were both great. I had to wait a little over 3 months for Gary and a little over a month for David. They seemed very courteous about it. David Thewlis even included a note thanking me for my letter. I'm sure anyone else can have these successes. Good Luck!!

Gus, I am extremely impressed! David Thewlis AND Gary Oldman? Where these through the mail successes? Not to mention Alan Rickman. I've tried a few times for him but he is quite a busy man. Anyway, a big congrats to you for your successes!

Harry Potter is probably my biggest collection after Lost and Lord of the Rings (though, not as big as some of these other super impressive collections!). Years ago a penpal gave me some addresses for the Harry Potter actors and I had got -

A pre-print photo and newsletter thing from Daniel Radcliffe.
A photo of the trio, signed by all 3 of them (pre-print though) - which I guess came from Emma Watson.
The same pre-print photo of the trio but with an extra personalised signature from Rupert Grint
A personalised photo card thing from Jason Isaacs (which I fear may have been accidently thrown in the bin now! ).
I had also wrote to Tom Felton then but never heard anything from him. I also see now on this site that he doesn't seem to autograph unless you pay for it.

A few years later I wrote to Rupert again and got a photo of him on his own, again personalised and a typed letter that he wrote my name on (at the top) and then his at the bottom

More recently I've wrote to Jason Isaacs again, Ralph Fiennes and I recently got 2 real (but not personalised) signed photo's of Brendan Glesson.
And I'm now gathering up some more addresses to write to a few others
