I purchase autographs constantly. This year alone in just 3 months I've purchased 83 autographs from all sources. on and off line auctions, dealers, other collectors etc. etc. Only 46 TTM. I agree with Andy if you can't get it thru the mail or in person what's wrong with buying it? Considering that over 60% received thru the mail are preprints, autopens and secretarials.(not my stats, there was a study done).

Sometimes I buy autographs of dead Czech actors and actresses or people who don't respond my requests. And I buy it in secondhand bookstores or in Czech on-line auction. But I like trading more than buying because it makes some of my colleagues happy.

I only buy autographs signed by celebrities who are impossible to get TTM and I get them from probably the only trusted dealer in the world.

Sorry but thats one of the most ridiculous things Ive ever read on this forum.

Questions for everyone who voted no -

1) If you want a celebs autograph, and you cant get it TTM or IP, what is wrong with buying it?

2) If buying is so wrong, then trading must also be wrong - as its the same reason (not personal, etc)

3) If a celeb has passed away, and you were a fan, is it also wrong to buy their autograph?

While I agree to a point, some are impossible to get TTM, and near imposisble to get IP, so buying is the only way.

I agree with dgangel, it's a lot more fun to get autographs yourself..but I am planning on buying a Leonardo DiCaprio autograph because he is impossible to get TTM.

no, its more interesting & worth it if I can get the autograph myself, either through the mail or ip.

Yes, usually if the person is impossible to get TTM, or its a piece of memorabillia that can only be purchased.

I must say though, the way you have put "NO!" suggests you hate the idea yourself, and yet you have stated no reasons.
