It depends. There are only a couple of people in my mind who I will write an extremely long letter to and will write it over the course of a few days. If it's someone that appeared in a movie I really enjoyed and liked their role etc, I won't spend so long thinking on what to write {up}

i write whatever comes up in my head but hey, you never know. Piper Perabo definitely read my letter because i only saw her in Cheaper by the dozen movies and she wrote she's glad i like the CBTD movies! I'd actually be pi$$ed if they never got my letter and instead send me PPs, especially if i took a few days to write them

I agree completely with what everyone has said. There are certain celebs (particularly sports stars) who I would not have expected to get a response from (because they do not usually respond. Basically, the more you put in it the more you will get out. I know that sounds cliche but I think its true.

I agree with Lucas 100%. If It is someone I know probably won't respond I take about 5 10 minutes on a nice short letter- but if its someone less known I take almost 2 or 3 days thinking of a really good letter with many questions and all that good stuff in it.

I think "work" and "effort" are interchangeable. Just semantics, really. :)

I'm glad to see, at least within these few responses, that I'm not in the minority because I write individulaized, polite, honest, from-the-heart letters.

I always put a lot of time into my letters. I always make sure to tell the person that I am a big fan, talk about my favorite shows/movies that they were in, ect. I always write my letters long enough to be genuinely interested, but not so long that the celebrity won't have enough time to read it.

First up I would never class it as "work".

I always write my letters as if the person themselves are going to sit down and read them. It comes from my heart and I mean what I say which hopefully is shown in the letter.

I have had some fantastic letters back from celebs that take the time to respnd to my letter, off the top of my head some of my fave letters include TJ Thyne and Dylan Bruno

I always take the time to write my letters. I have a theory that if your letter is interesting enough they just might pass it on to the celeb. I mean, I have gotten many nice replies over the years including letters as a responce to what I wrote :D So I will continiue to do so :)

Just curious.

I try and write really nice, respectful, personal letters. It recently occurred to me, though, that the celebs will rarely read them - most mail is opened by an assistant or secretary, right?

So why do I bother putting so much effort in? Do you guys?
