I used Myspace to ask Blue Demon Jr. about getting his autograph and said for me to call his office in Mexico City. I didn't because my Spanish isn't that good and international phone call are expensive.

I got the phone number out of a phone directory. As some have probably seen in the Feedback section that I collect autographs of Canadian politicians and after a bit of research I had found a phone number and address for the former Prime Minister John N Turner. I called and we spoke for about five minutes. He said he was flattered that I wanted him in my collection and would be glad to sign one if I sent him a letter to his house with my address. I did that and about a month later he sent me a signed photo. I have posted the picture he sent me.

you should never call a celebrity, that is an invasion of privacy, and borders along the lines of stalking.

In a way, yes. Think about it along the lines of "Hi, can you send me XXXX's autograph please? I'm too lazy to write a letter". Its the same kinda thing as not sending SASEs or IRCs. Just comes across badly.

(Its not the same as emails, as some have been set up for that purpose, but thats neither here nor there)

All the times I have called for autographs I was told to send a SASE to an address that was provided.

I dont think it's really being rude. I havent called a company requesting an autograph but if I found a number for someones company than maybe. I actually have called a celebrities home before when I couldn't find an address. He was very nice and we spoke for several minutes and he gave me the address where I could send my request.

I doubt anyone's been rude enough to find out the answer to be honest.
