the signed book I treasure most is a copy of Slaughterhouse-Five
signed by the late Kurt Vonnegut.

I was fortunate to have sent the book to Mr. Vonnegut about 10 years ago, and he graciously signed it for me.

Just as an aside, I've discovered that most authors prefer fans send
bookplates to be signed rather than the books themselves. I guess
it's easier for them to manage and doesn't result in stacks of packages
arriving thru the mail all the time.

Not a bad thing since bookplates are inexpensive and can be sent thru
the mail cheaply in a small envelope. If it gets lost, not a big deal.

Best of luck to everyone1

They want bookplates if u dont send proper postage otherwise they have to take it down to the post office to be weighed. Anything over a pound has to be weighed unless u print postage from home. I only have a few books signed but they are all signed on the book and not on a sticker. I also have a Monk book signed by Tony Shalhoub on the dustjacket with his picture.

I have three from Ken munro (A local Author) (IP)
TTM :The Elements by Theo Gray and Dark Prophecy by Anthony E. Zuiker (this book is special to me because it cam to me before it was even released to the public!). I like getting Autographed books. It combines reading ( of which i do all the time) and getting autographs

I have a ton of signed books. Book signings are the best way to get stars that you'll never get any other way. Some of the people I've gotten at book signings are; Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton, Sylvester Stallone, Jane Fonda, Michael Palin, John Dean, and Carl Bernstein.

The rarest autographed item in my collection is a book signed by actor Sydney Greenstreet from the 1930's, long before he acted in his first film.

I prefer signed photos now though. I'm not a book person lol
Cool, Andrew Flintoff's book signed is great. I'm a big Cricket fan. :D

I have 3 signed books:
1 From R.L. Stine (Say Cheese and Die)
The O'Reilly Factor For Kids by Bill O'Reilly
Steal Away Home by Lois Ruby-I got it when I was 12 and she came to my school to speak.
I am hoping to get more because I have been sending out bookplates lately.

kinda funny but i went to a tigers game with Kirk Gibson's autobiography

everybody there said i was dumb for bringing it to get signed because he doesn't sign.

as he was walking off the field i politely yelled to him and showed him his book. he came over and signed my book and asked me if i had anything else i wanted signed so i gave him 2 cards and he signed those too.

So I have

Kirk Gibson- "Bottom of the 9th"
Mick Foley- "Have a Nice Day"

and I ordered Mick's book on ebay from his wife. i found her ebay ID. so those are the 2 I have. he wrote an amazing inscription too but i can't post it.
