The postal service here STINKS. The post office WILL bend anything, crush packages, leave your mail hanging out of your mailbox.

We used to have a post office box. They never bent my mail there (they did..um..like twice and I was pretty peeved over it) that often but, they'd put a slip in my box and I'd pick up the package while I was in there getting my mail.

Now that we have an actual MAIL BOX, our mail gets crushed more. I swear, if I happen to find an autograph ruined in that mailbox, I'm definitely going down to the post office and telling them that if they're going to bend my mail, while CLEARLY written DO NOT BEND in red letters on it, not to deliver it, just leave it at the post office and I'll go pick it up.

I hate getting bent things, unless it's not a picture, it's just some kind of worthless 'COME GET MAH CREDIT CARD' thing.

Before I got an external mail box my dog used to frequently get her teeth in to my mail. I have quite a few cropped and folded autographs that I just do my best to frame out :D

I turn them over (folded like a christmas card, design outwards) and go over it with a ruler.
Or i just roll a rolling pin. It works =]

My mailbox is small and we always get a lot of mail so it gets bent, even with a cardboard

Best thing to do is send it with cardboard so your mail man will have a hard time bending the envelop. :? I usually send photo mailers as SASE, and my mail box is big enough so there's no reason for them to bend it. Never gotten anything back that was bend so far, but it would really ruin the autograph for me. It's just not the same with a big crease in the middle.

Ironing huh? I might have to try that out.....can you tell me how to go about it so I don't ruin my autographs?

And I'm definitely going to have to chase my mailman down....I'm waiting on some Doctor Who autographs and I really don't want those bent...they are not for me!
