In some cases, you are correct. However if you find the right buyer who does not care and is not just looking to pick it up to turn around and sell it, then you can still find buyers. these are mostly hardcore fans of a certain player or team who will hang onto the card forever. I've stumbled upon a few over the years. Now that I'm in Oklahoma (Home of Troy) if I wanted to really sell them, I'm sure I could find a buyer.
