According to the LongPen website, it's no longer sold for use with book signings, etc. It's now for business document signings.

For now, we have nothing to worry about. It's basically an Autopen at this point.

This was taken from their website...
"Currently our focus is on building a LongPenâ„¢ Network in the publishing and bookselling industry. But the system has applications for other celebrity-based industries-music, film, TV, sports-and we will be establishing Networks in those markets too."

Unfortunately this could and probably will expand beyond books.

Can you see going to sci fi convention or any autograph convention for that matter and having a bunch of robot arms signing????

What I'm saying is the Longpen was made for books, it's being sold for books, and the only ones buying them are buying them for books.

so your saying you must be "approved" by the company to
purchase this from them?

The company is selling them to publishers, authors, and bookstores, not fanmail services.

why can't they be used for something else?

Longpens are for books and only books.

And the AP creates a legal signature. I believe that this discussion has already gone on between us.
