I am in 100% agreement {up} Advice on balance is not to do it unless you absolutely have no other option, but it does actually work - PROVIDING it is a proper chemically developed photograph, which has been signed.

If you try it with a laser (or inkjet) printed photo then it will remove the picture as well!!!

This can sometimes be useful to remove the autopens from SFM signed photos (to give you a blank print) if you are ever in a position to get an in-person, or have a 100% reliable TTM address ;-)

Don't tell SFM I said that though

Hey Piper! It's probably not the best idea to remove the inscription because it could damage the photo. What you can do is write a fan letter to MC as your friend. I'm sure she'll send your friend one. Even if you ask her yourself, she won't know it's you because she's probably getting lots of mail! Good luck + I hope you get one for your friend!

I would definitely try it on a regular photo with ink on it to see what the effects were before trying it on the autographed pic.

I've heard it can be done, removing Sharpie from a glossy photo, but I don't know how.

See, I wrote to Michaela Conlin and asked for pics for me and my friend. She only sent one for me, and while I'm really grateful that she did, I know he REALLY wants her autograph, and he deserves something nice, so I thought I'd remove the name and just give it to him. I tried to find the thread where someone discussed the technique, but no luck...

(For the record, I'm not doing this so that I can sell autographs that came to me personalized or anything, I'm a collecter, not a dealer.)

I know I COULD just write her back and politely request another photo, but I feel kind of uncomfortable doing that since she already wrote back to me once...
