I usually wait 6 - 8 + months before writing again. It really depends on who you wrote to. I don't really say that "this is my second attempt"... :P If it's my third or more I might though! :D

It really all depends on what you wrote in the letter. If it says something from the past, that was recent at the time you sent it, then I would say that you should type/write a new letter. If not, then it all depends on what you want to do. You do not have to say that this is your second attempt.

Trying Again

Once you have waited what you think is long enough and guess your item is lost or neglecting and you decide to send a request again, do you send exactly the same letter as the first time, or the same letter with an amendment saying this is your second attempt?
