No problem reaper ;) unfortunately Will's singles are a bad misrepresentation of the brilliant album tracks he has, but hey :D

@Shambler

Okay, I get your point! And thanks for this little discussion without bitching and everything! That is hard to find on here!!!! {thumb2} {up} :mrgreen:

PS: I know Will Young! Not a fan but I know him! *gg*

That is true neither do I! I do not write to a person because he/she is famous but I do because I admire them for what they did, even if they maybe just were 'famous' for one year!
But maybe I got you wrong! But you know I saw it more like you do not have to 'know' someone for a few years to 'like' them. And why do you call people in your example 'fools'?! That is kind of insulting to people who like such 'fools'. There are so many people I admire who are no longer considered to be famous and yet I still admire them. So I do not understand your point! And you know what? What you say does not match in my opinion: you cannot stand people who write to celebs just because they are famous and yet you only write to people who are in the spotlight for a longer period of time?! And you said 'will be forgotten in no time' that seems to me like you only collect of their fame because if you do like that album (let's take your example) why should you care that they only had one?! Or do I missunderstand you?! ;) But I do not want to start an argument. I accept your opinion! :mrgreen: {thumb2}
(Sorry if I made any English mistakes but when I am in a disscusion I cannot control myself. *gg* :mrgreen:)
Nah we not gonna argue on this dont worry ;) I just like having - lets say, 'established' celebs' auto's who have given me a considerable career and lots of great bodies of work to enjoy. Like..I don't know how to explain it - lets take Will Young (british pop/soul/jazz singer), I wouldn't have written to him after his first album, because I might have hated his albums that were to follow, but I love all 3 of his albums and so wrote to him! Maybe you're right, perhaps I should broaden my horizons ;) oh and when I say 'fools' I say it in a Mr.T/A Team Hip Hop humorous typa way :D I don't have personal problems with any folks ;) *just editing to say that I don't write because people are famous, like Will Young - many people haven't a clue who he is! But he's a bloody good singer whose work I've enjoyed for 6 years now, that's how I choose who to write to!* :)

So, I get it right: you only write to them because they are famous and not because you like them?! Hmm, okay everybody his/her own! *ggg* ;)

Well, I probably got around 60!

I really don't know how you read into it like that :? :? I don't write to any fool who becomes famous in ten days and is gone within a year, like a lot of people do. I write to people I have truly admired for a long time, who are truly talented and most importantly, have longevity. Why would I want a band/singer/actor etc's autograph in my album who will be off the scene and forgotten in no time (for example, a band who release one good album then split)? I can't stand people who write to celebrities just because they're famous/the 'it' thing right now, and not because they genuinely like them.

Haha! I'm a fan of so many people. I write to them if I reallllly like them and they're worth sending for. Plus, I do get autographs for some other family members of mine to give to them. They certainly like this hobby well enough! And it usually comes to be that I get 2 personalized, one for them, one for me. So it always adds to my count.

Plus we'll be going back to Florida sometime in the near future (after Christmas sometime) and there's so many roaming celebrities in the area we're going. We're right right right near Miami when we go to visit again. So Maybe I'll run in to one and get an IP success.
