I usually get photos from google. There is a button that sorts images by size and I look for a large image. Then you can print at home or send to a store.

I'm looking to get some autographs and from some actresses. Should I ask them for a photo from them if not where would I get a good quality picture at? Thanks for any input!

Email is great, but I use it as a jumping off point - asking where I can send a letter of request. If from that they send me an autograph, great, but I never solely use email. It's too easy - IMHO, easier - to ignore or delete or miss an email than a LOR.

That said, people's signing habits can change. They may sign one day, have their secretaries do it the next (as Gene Wilder was rumored to do, especially as he got sicker), and/or not reply at all for whatever reason.

I second CraigK. I've had success sending to Wilford Brimley. Another good bet is trying to send to celebrities when they're performing on Broadway. Doing this, I've had some pretty good successes, such as Helen Mirren, Bill Nighy, Brian Dennehy and David Tennant to name a few.

Also, the best bet is to keep your letter about a page since a lot of them are pretty busy, and just be genuine. Another older actress that's really good to her fans is Barbara Feldon, Agent 99 from the TV show "Get Smart". She's a lovely woman and a great signer.

I don't do e-mail requests. And I do like to put time and thought into my letters. Sometimes they are the easiest thing in the world to write based on the actor or their work.

A great older actor to start with is Wilford Brimley. Awesome with his fans, as is Ed Asner.

I agree with tommie to start with older people like Betty White and James Earl Jones. Personally, I write stuff like (I thought you were great in ...) and sometimes it works. Since I'm into golf autographs I go to live tournaments and meet the golfers. I don't really do autographs by email but I have about 30 autographs by snail mail. I always started with going after the older players or actors. I'm talking about people in their 70's or 80's. I'm not that familiar with hockey, I'm sure that you know people of that era. Don't be afraid to use Wikipedia and the White pages to help with locations and address's.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. What was your most memorable game. Who was the hardest player that you played against. That type stuff.
Just a thought.

I see a lot of people saying they got autographs through email but won't post it. I'm more into sports autographs but some of my favorite shows appear to not sign. Kind of depressing. Could someone start me off with my non hockey autograph collection with an email or people that sign (that are not signed by a stamp or secretary )
