I agree with Zorin. I used to ask if they can personalize it and I found myself sorta greedy for that. Just write a really nice letter to them and eventually, they'll give you something and say "___Name___, Thanks for the love! ". That's what happens to me most of the time. Just be happy that you get an autograph.

I always ask for it, because I feel it lets them know I'm a genuine fan and not just a collector. So far so good! The exception to this is certain IP instances where the celeb is in a hurry. In that case, I won't mind just the signature.

It depends who you are sending a letter to. Most celebrities will personalise an autograph. I never ask for a personalisation but all the ones I have received in the mail have been personalised.

I always ask for personlized autographs and most of the time, they do personalize them. Its not going to hurt to ask.

I agree withn margotchanning. I guess, If you do you might get what you want. This brings to mind the song...

"You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what ya need"
OK, sorry. But anyway, I think there's no harm in asking.

It's not like they're gonna send you back a 2-page letter about how they don't have time to personalize!

In some instances, celebrities pre sign a bunch of photo's so if you asked for a personalisation you would either not get one or have it added by a secratary. However, sometimes asking for a personalisation means the celebrity would realise you were not going to sell the autograph and would send an authentic personalised autograph. It's all down to your own judgement really {thumb2}

At first I had the same attitude as you - wondering if it was rude, but now I just ask and most of the autographs I get back are personalised. If it's someone who always personalises or personalises most of the time , I don't ask. If it's someone who rarely or occasionally personalises I always ask, and 90% they personalise. However there are some that even if you do ask they don't do it.

So basically, yes, I'd ask for personalisation :D

Personally, I would not risk the photo to be personalized by the secrecty by asking them to personalize it.

If the person doesn't personalize then I'd asume that they won't personalize even if you asked them too. I mean like Johnny Depp or Orlando bloom who don't even do authentics. But other then that I always ask for personalization and so far I've gotten one.
