Re: Legally Blonde: The Musical StageDoor (Saturday, 29th)!

I know how hard it is to meet a cast after a matinee. I had little to no success with both A Catered Affair and Young Frankenstein at matinees in June. I was lucky enough to meet the original Legally Blonde cast after a show in June last year. I met 22 of them in all, including Laura Bell Bundy, Ann...

Re: A Tale of Two Cities..the musical/Brandi Burkhardt StageDoor

I know these actors & actresses don't mean too much to too many people, but they do to me! You'd be suprised how many people here are avid theatergoers. I have two friends in this show's ensemble (Alison Cimmet and Anne Tolpegin). I have known both of them for quite a while, and I am very proud...

Boeing Boeing Cast (Broadway)

This is the last, and absolutely the favorite of my experiences from my Tonys week trip. It is from Boeing Boeing, the 2008 Tony winner for Best Play Revival. It's a hilarious farce, with the perfect cast. Joining Tony winner Mark Rylance, is Mary McCormack, Gina Gershon, Kathryn Hahn, Christine Bar...

Gypsy (Broadway & City Center)

The fifth show of my Tonys week trip to NYC was the highly acclaimed revival of Gypsy. This show featured a rarity, three Tony winning performances. Boyd Gaines and Laura Benanti won in supporting roles. Patti Lupone won for her portrayal of Mama Rose, 29 years after her last Tony win for Evita. I w...

Re: Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Broadway-Laura Linney)

I don't know how I screwed that one up, drewbaby. I guess it was just wishful thinking. She is a two time Tony Nominee, but has never won. Hopefully. she'll win a Tony or an Oscar soon. She certainly deserves it.

Bernadette Peters & South Pacific Cast (Broadway)

The day of my NYC trip brought two more in person experiences in the realm of theater. The first was at the event promoting Bernadette Peters' new children's book, called Broadway Barks. This is the same name of the foundation run by Bernadette and her friend Mary Tyler Moore that finds homes for re...

Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Broadway-Laura Linney)

The forth show and fifth in person experience was after the play that was adapted into the films Dangerous Liaisons and Cruel Intentions. I was absolutely electrified by the time this night was over. Not only did I meet Ben Daniels (the male lead of the show), Sian Phillips and Kristine Neilsen (who...

Young Frankenstein Cast (Broadway)

On the second day of my NYC trip, I saw The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein (not a capatalization typo, that's the full title!). The show is absolutely hilarious, and really suprised me. My in person experience at this show is rather unique. Unlike my two attemts to meet the casts at Top G...

Re: Alison Pill and Piper Perabo (Reasons To Be Pretty)-Updated

I have two new developments from Reasons To Be Pretty. During my NYC vacation last week, I was able to meet Pablo Scheriber. In addition to Reasons, he was nominated for a Tony for his role in Awake and Sing two years ago. I got him to sign playbills from both (I will post the Awake and Sing scan so...

Top Girls (Broadway-Marisa Tomei,Martha Plimpton)

My second in person success from my Tonys week Trip comes from the Play Top Girls. The show features an all female cast, headed by two time Tony nominee Martha Plimpton and Oscar winner Marisa Tomei. I actually saw the show three weeks before this trip, but failed to meet several of the cast. I was ...
