Did you send the photo to get signed?

I'm new to this. Can you please tell me exactly what you sent him? Do you send him a hand written letter or was it typed out on a computer? Also, what type of stamped envelope(size, etc...) did you use? Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
