Re: do you buy autographs
I would not buy an autograph of someone who is alive or has been alive during my lifetime and I would NEVER buy an autograph on it's own, an autographed book maybe as it is like almost just a sign that it is their work but if I bought an autograph on it's own it would feel like stealing as it wasn't...

Re: I have a GREAT idea for autograph authenticaton!!!
The thing is signers wouldn't want to do that because the only reason that you would need to know if the autograph is authentic nowadays is if the signer is dead or your going to sell it.

Re: Postage Mishap

Re: Brooke Shields post cards from 1981
I really don't think there is a good authenticator, it's better finding in person signatures and handwriting and match it up yourself. Certificates of Authentication are a waste of paper most of the time.

Re: Handwritten vs Typed
I think handwritten is much better, seems like you've put effort into it and that's not what someone who was sending out about 50 typed requests everyday could do, it takes longer but the end result is a lot more satisfying. I always handwrite letters because for everyday English my spelling is perf...

Postage Mishap
Right so I was sending a request to David Attenborough and I put a large letter stamp on the envelope and SASE but when I got to the Post Office they classed it as a Package so I paid the excess amount but I only just realised about my SASE which still only has a large letter stamp so will this be O...
