18 of 70 after two months is not a bad response rate. Response time varies greatly depending upon who you write to... I've gotten responses less than a week after writing to someone, and I've gotten responses a year or two after writing to someone. You can check the previous reports for the people y...

I got 16 autographs from 11 different people last month. I haven't bothered to count up what I've received this month.

I've mostly been writing to obscure actors from shows that I've enjoyed and retired baseball players (again, mostly obscure guys.)

Cal Ripken has not signed through the mail for years... I wouldn't waste my stamps.

I don't believe that Muhammad Ali can sign. (He suffers from Parkinson's disease.)

I definitely would not waste my time writing to Derek Jeter or Roger Clemens... they are just not known for answering fan mail. I suspect that they receive too much to keep up with even if they wanted to. I'm not sure if any of the others on your list are more realistic options, though. (I'm not rea...

I've only sent photos, trading/game cards, index cards and (used) sports tickets in the mail.

It's really not a great idea to send out anything expensive or difficult to replace, since there's no guarantee that you'll ever see it again.

I was just wondering if anyone has ever setup a reply mail account with the post office. I know they are typically for business, just wondering if someone knows if they offer a basic account for the regular joe to use at home. Even if it were possible for individuals to set up reply mail accounts, ...

I post my successes on an autograph blog (link in sig), but I doubt I'll ever get around to taking the time to set up a proper website to showcase my collection.

I don't really like pre-prints -- I won't waste my time writing to anyone that is known to send them. On the other hand, for celebs that are too busy to keep up with their mail by personally signing autographs, I think they are a better option than secretarial signatures, autopens, stamps, or just i...

If you're weighing your envelopes, you're using the right amount of postage. Depending on the number of photos I send and the weight of the cardboard backing, I use either $0.84 or $1.11 on my outgoing envelope, and $0.84 on the SASE. The only way you'd get away with $0.63 postage is if you skipped ...
