Exclusive Celebrity artwork goes on display via eBay auction

Unread post by gemmst »

Exclusive Celebrity artwork goes on display in Leeds exhibition and online eBay auction this week......

Over 400 pieces of exclusive artwork, created by high profile celebrities, famous artists as well as upcoming talent, will be on display at Leeds Art Exhibition from this Thursday, 23 October until Sunday 26 October and also via an eBay online auction. What makes ‘The Secret Art Project’ so unique is that all pieces on display are anonymous!

Event organiser Danielle LeCuirot explains: ‘Many artists and celebrities have contributed to this fantastic campaign including Stephen Fry, Sir Ian McKellen, Danny Dyer, Prime Minister David Cameron, Sir Ben Kingsley, Ashley Jackson, Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs), Katherine Jenkins, A P McCoy and many more. There is a full list of the names of the contributors available online but the secret is you don’t know who submitted any particular piece!

The works are all signed so people will only know the artist once they have won a bid and received the piece. You could find yourself being the owner of a priceless work of art!’

The pieces will be on show at the Leeds Art Exhibition, at the Grammar School at Leeds in Alwoodley from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 October 10am-6pm and Sunday 26 October 10am-4pm. The online auction, hosted on eBay, will launch on Wednesday 22 October on www.st-gemma.co.uk/sap Bidding closes on 31 October at 8pm. The great news is that 100% of the proceeds from the auction will go to St Gemma’s Hospice to support their valuable work.

The Secret Art Project is an exciting new addition to the long-standing Leeds Art Exhibition which is now in its 14th year and one of the largest displays in the region. With over 900 pieces ranging from £25 to over £1000, there’s something for all tastes. Visitors will enjoy large dramatic landscapes, stunning watercolours and cutting edge abstract pieces. There’s also an on-site Art café with delicious homemade cakes, pastries and quality tea and coffee to refresh you whilst you view the stunning artworks on show.

This year’s event is kindly supported by Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC.
