Katie Holloway is a relative newcomer to sitting volleyball, but she has already shown to be a strong asset at the net for the 2008 U.S. Paralympic Women's Sitting Volleyball Team with her height and athleticism. Holloway made her Paralympic Games debut in Beijing in September 2008 and was a huge contributor to Team USA’s silver medal. Holloway was one of the starters for Team USA, as they fell to China and took home the silver medal once again at the 2010 Sitting Volleyball World Championships.
Holloway has put together a very solid collegiate career on the basketball court with the Cal State Northridge Matadors. She is the two-time defending Big West Conference Sixth Woman of the Year, winning her second award after the 2006-07 season despite missing 10 games because of a broken finger. She averaged 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 20.2 minutes per game, while making 65 percent of her shots from the floor. The 2007-08 season, in which Holloway served as team captain and was named team MVP, was her final season as the starting center for the Matadors.
Holloway graduated from Cal State Northridge in 2008 with a degree in sociology.
On June 9, 2008, Holloway appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Faces in the Crowd feature.
